Renewable energy has only recently become common practice, but it is already gaining popularity at a rapid pace, becoming the preferred source of energy supply for an increasing number of consumers. Thanks to a successful combination of incentive and demand trends that are readily apparent in developed and developing countries around the world, solar-wind power is competing well with conventional power.
In terms of stimulating trends, firstly, renewable energy sources (RES) have achieved almost price and performance parity with conventional energy sources, both on and off the centralized energy grid. Second, the use of solar power plants (SPPs) and wind power plants (WPPs) can help to balance the load on the power grid. Thirdly, solar/wind power is increasing its competitive edge due to the development of new technologies.
